Aadhaar Samajik Sanstha is a Non-Governmental Organization registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 and Bombay Public Trust Act 1950.
What do we do:
Aadhaar Baal Aangan is a project of Aadhaar Samajik Sanstha that lays down a strong foundation for the development of children of Construction Labourers from the age group of 1 month to 16 years through ensuring education, nutrition, health services, recreation, protection and community participation at construction sites.
How do we do it:
Construction industry in Maharashtra, especially in the cities such as Pune is expanding at a faster rate, thereby, increasing in the number of construction sites and laborers. The children of construction worker living on the construction sites lead a very nomadic life style, living in vulnerable conditions, deprived from the education system, engaged in household and in construction work in their early age, being malnourished and therefore facing various behavioral problems.
In light of this, the project aims at comprehensive care and provision of educational programs for the children of construction laborers at 8 Child Friendly Centres. These centres function from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for 6 days a week in the labour camps at the construction site.
A) Educational opportunities are provided in makeshift class rooms on the construction sites through non - formal school set up. Further, more concentration is to mainstream the children into formal education. It is ensured that all the children in the age group of 6 years to 14 years are enrolled and retained into the formal schools.
B) Health checkups are conducted for the children and based on the results a supplementary diet is provided. This helps children to fulfill their basic needs, improve nutritional levels and also expand their attention span in the class.
C) Counseling is done to the children in need between the age group of 6 to 14 years to cater the educational, behavioral and emotional need of the children.
Besides this the parents are made to involved in the health and educational progress of the children through parent instructors meetings and increased awareness programs conducted for them. This in turn leads to a permanent change in their attitude towards education sustaining this activity where they migrate.
Finally, the project helps to spread more awareness about the issue of the rights of the construction laborers and the children on a mass level in the society along with other NGO (Non Governmental Organizations) and Government bodies who are working in the field of child development.

Our Impacts:
The organization has worked through 16 centers till now and has provided quality services to more than 1000 children of construction labourers.
Children are protected from all types of abuse and harms during the time at activity centers. The only organization which provides full mid-day meals.
The organization looks towards children and their families as a primary stakeholder and provides all services as a part of their right.
Parents of the children have been sensitized about child rights and behavioral change which has brought to make children’s life better.
Health check up camps and doctor visits conducted has resulted in improvement of the health standards of children.
Non-formal education and support for formal education has helped children in their educational development.
Counseling is ensured as per the need of children and their parents.
